The Manufacturing Difference: Durability by Design
Not all metal eaves are equal. While competitors often skip steps, Alugutter uses a rigorous 5-stage finishing process to prevent early failure:
- Hand Sanding: Each item manually abraded for optimal surface key.
- Chemical Degreasing: Thorough removal of contaminants.
- Etch Priming: Specialist primer for chemical bonding.
- Powder Coating: Interpon D1036 architectural-grade polyester application.
- Curing: Baked for hard, fade-resistant finish.

Fascia and Soffit Fixing
These boards install easily by competent tradespeople. Typically screw-fixed with colour-matched fasteners to 18mm WBP plyboard framing at 600mm centres for secure, lasting setup. Jointers and angle covers bond over abutting panels; use masking tape to hold until silicone cures.
Similar to PVC systems in process, ensuring straightforward application.
For comprehensive setups, pair with our compatible guttering and downpipes, powder coated to match.
Maintenance Tips for Aluminium Eaves
Upkeep is simple. Low-maintenance designs require occasional cleaning with fresh water and soft brush. Annually—or twice in marine areas—inspect joints and clear debris.
If polyester finish dulls after years, overpaint with quality metal paint.

How to Fix Aluminium Fascia and Soffit Boards
Our aluminium fascia and soffit boards are typically screw fixed with colour matched screws to 18mm WBP plyboard framing. The plywood allows the fascia and soffits boards to be fixed at 600mm centres and will also support any potential guttering to be fixed over. Standard jointers and angle covers are bonded over abutting panels.
Top tip: Use masking tape to hold jointers in position until the silicone has cured.
Aluminium fascia and soffit panels are very similar to PVC systems in terms of the installation process and can be carried out by any competent trades person.

How To Clean Aluminium Fascia and Soffits
Our fascia and soffit products will last for many years and with minimal maintenance, the powder coated surfaces can easily last in excess of 25 years before repainting is considered.
Rainwater alone will wash away most of the dirt but to get the maximum out of the paint life, we recommend that the system is cleaned annually or every 6 months in a marine environment. This will keep your system looking like new!
• Wash the fascia/soffit boards with clean water and a soft bristle brush only. The brush will remove stubborn build-ups and microfibre cloths also work very well!
• Do not use harsh cleaning chemicals, abrasive pads or pressure washers as these have the potential to damage the powder coated surfaces.
• Once the panels have been cleaned, dry the surfaces with another clean cloth which will leave the panels sparkling.
Most window cleaning professionals will also offer a fascia and gutter cleaning service.
How To Cut Aluminium Fascia Panels
We recommend the use of an angle grinder with a 1mm wide metal cutting blade. It is crucial that the blade is dipped into tallow which will lubricate the blade, preventing burrs and providing a neat cut. Any slight burrs can be taken off with a file.
Skill saws, jig saws and mitre saws with metal cutting blades are also typically used to cut items down to size.
