  High performance low modulus silicone sealant. This sealant is specially formulated and tested to withstand the thermal movement of aluminium gutter systems. Due to its high silicone content, it will remain elastic for many years and resist age hardening. We would not recommend that this component is substituted with a lesser product. For sealing gutter joints - 1 tube will seal approx. 10 joints Half Round, Deepflow & Box gutters - Sealant is applied between the two joint gasket spacers supplied with each fitting. Moulded Ogee Gutters - A full bed of silicone is applied to each joint before inserting the nut, bolt and washer assembly. The sealant is light grey in colour but should not be visible once installation is complete. Any oozed out silicone should be cleaned and removed with solvent cleaner.

Aluminium can be infinitely recycled without loss of quality, which keeps scrap values high and means it should never go to landfill. Defined by BS 476 part 3 External Fire Exposure roof tests, aluminium alloys are rated AA, the highest possible under this classification system. This achieves a superior decorative and durable finish when compared to conventional paint systems. Painting is carried out in an automated and controlled environment, starting with cleansing the product surfaces, and followed by pre-treatment of surfaces prior to the powder paint being electrostatically applied. This is followed by oven baking to temperatures in excess of 200̊ C for approximately 10 minutes to convert the applied powder paint to a hard and durable finish. PRODUCT LIFE EXPECTANCY Alugutter® products have a functional life expectancy of approximately 50 years, and with minimal maintenance, the colour coatings can provide a decorative finish for in excess of 25 years. The paint manufacturers recommend that painted surfaces are washed down on a yearly basis with clean water and a soft brush. This should be reduced to 6-month periods in marine or aggressive environmental locations. Following many years of service, once the paint finish loses its original lustre, the painted surfaces can be overpainted using a good quality metal paint.

  POLYESTER POWDER COATING Alugutter® eaves drainage systems and all associated components are Polyester Powder Coated in accordance with Qualicoat accredited procedures, using only the best external architectural grade powder paints. This achieves a superior decorative and durable finish when compared to conventional paint systems. Painting is carried out in a controlled automated environment, firstly cleansing the product surfaces, followed by multi stage chemical pre-treatments, prior to electrostatic application of the powder paint. The product is finally subjected to temperatures in excess of 200°C for approximately 10 minutes, which liquefy’s and fuses the paint to the product surfaces, providing a hard and durable paint finish. COLOURS OPTIONS For most ranges Alugutter® offer Anthracite Grey RAL 7016 and a Textured Black as standard stocked products for shorter lead times. A wide range of other standard colours are also available and shown in the chart below. If a special colour is required, please contact us to establish availability and prices. With the exception of our textured high gloss black finish, all colours are set at a 30% gloss level with a smooth surface finish.
